| Generally, there are are three
ways to get links.
First people that have found your site love the content and
they link to you. It is difficult to build your link popularity
this way because in order for you to get links people have
to see the site. In order to get them to your site you usually
have to do expensive advertising. Once a site gets popular
and becomes know as being a resource or has a product or service
thats in high demand people will link from their site to yours.
Every site on the Internet has zero links at inception. However
the most popular sites like Amazon, Fed Ex, Ebay and others
have tens of thousands of sites that link to them. On line
press releases and articles with links also build link popularity
by creating a link to your site and by generating traffic
to your site.
The second way to to buy a link. Buying a link from a popular
site can be very expensive. Depending on how popular the site
is a link can sell for anywhere from $20 to $2,000 and up
per month for each link. Many sites such as corporate and
education or government sites will not sell a link because
they don't know you, your reputation or they are restricted
from doing so by law.
The third way is to trade links with other sites. For most
of us this is the most responsible, sane way to get links
to our sites. You may have received an email in the past from
people who claim to have looked at your site and would like
to exchange links with you. Link building companies that research
partners, find relevant links and broker a trade charge between
$25 and $75 dollars each. Getting links to your site is not
rocket science. However it is hard work and takes a lot of
time to do.
In the past, to run a good reciprocal links section on your
website, it took effort and a lot of time. Manual Link building
does not happen over night. This time is time that could be
better spent running your business.
